Privacy Policy

(Updated June 2017)

This Privacy Policy sets out information about the privacy practices of D2 Legal Technology (“D2LT”) and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected by us, how it will be used and for what purposes.

By submitting any information to us, or by otherwise accessing or using our website (www.d2legaltech.com), you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy and consent to the policies and practices described for the collection, use or disclosure of personal data.

1. Types of information we collect

This Privacy Policy covers the collection of personal data.

“Personal data” is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (a “data subject”), being a natural person who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, identification number, location data, online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person.

The types of personal data you may provide to us may include name, address, phone number, e-mail address, contact preferences, educational and employment background, and job interest data.

2. Collected information

We've structured the D2LT websites so that, in general, you can visit D2LT on the web without identifying yourself or revealing any personal data. We make this Privacy Policy and notice readily available on our website.

3. Links to non-D2LT websites

The D2LT websites may provide links to third-party companies’ websites for your convenience and information. If you access those links, you will leave the D2LT website. D2LT does not control those sites, their content or their privacy practices, which may differ from D2LT's. We do not endorse or make any representations about third-party websites. The personal data you choose to give to unrelated third parties is not covered by this D2LT Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any company before submitting your personal data. Some third-party companies may choose to share their personal data with D2LT; that sharing is governed by that third-party company's privacy policy.

4. Children's privacy

D2LT is committed to protecting the privacy needs of children and we encourage parents and guardians to take an active role in their children's online activities and interests. D2LT does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13 and D2LT does not target its websites to children under 13.

5. How we use your personal data

D2LT uses personal data to understand better your needs and interests and to provide you with better service. Once you choose to provide us with personal data, you can be assured it will be used only to answer your queries, provide you with products and/or services, or otherwise support your relationship with D2LT.

Specifically, we use your information to communicate with you, to provide information about our products and services, to update you on products, services and benefits, or to forward promotional offers about our products and services or information about other items that may interest you. Occasionally we may also use your information to contact you for market research regarding D2LT products or services.

Although we use all reasonable means to ensure that the information you provide to us is not used by third parties for purposes other than those described in this Privacy Policy, D2LT is not responsible for any improper use of your personal data that is beyond our reasonable control.

6. Who we share your personal data with

D2LT will not sell, rent or lease your personal data to others. D2LT will not share your personal data with third parties except in responding to your queries and requests for products or services. D2LT shares customer information across D2LT-owned business entities and companies working on our behalf, but only as described in this Privacy Policy.

D2LT contracts with third-party service providers and suppliers to deliver complete products, services and customer solutions and benefits. Suppliers and service providers are required to keep confidential the information received on behalf of D2LT consistent with this Privacy Policy and may not use it for any purpose other than to carry out the services they are performing for D2LT.

D2LT will not share personal data with any other third parties without your permission, unless to: (i) respond to duly authorized information requests of governmental authorities; (ii) comply with any law, regulation, subpoena, or court order, (iii) help prevent fraud or to enforce or protect the rights and properties of D2LT or its subsidiaries; or (iv) to protect the personal safety of D2LT employees and third parties on D2LT property.

Circumstances may arise where, whether for strategic or other business reasons, D2LT decides to sell, buy, merge or otherwise reorganize businesses in some countries. Such a transaction may involve the disclosure of personal data to prospective or actual purchasers, or receiving it from sellers. It is D2LT’s practice to seek appropriate protection for information, including personal data, in these types of transactions.

7. Your choices and opting out

D2LT gives you the choice of receiving a variety of information that complements our products and services. D2LT communications may include new product information, special offers, or an invitation to participate in market research, etc.

You can always change your mind and modify your permissions on how we are allowed to use the personal data we collect about you.  Please specify your privacy preferences by writing to D2LT at privacy@d2legaltech.com. Be sure to provide your name, e-mail and postal address in all correspondence.

8. Your personal data and third-party companies

Certain D2LT services may be linked with those from third-party companies, some which offer you the option to share with both D2LT and the third party personal data you provide. Examples include to request communications from D2LT marketing or solution partners. We will not share your personal data with third-party companies unless you make that choice.

D2LT may share information with third parties acting on behalf of D2LT and who may be located in other geographies. These third parties are under contract to D2LT and bound by terms of confidentiality and the same data privacy rules in usage at D2LT.

9. Access to and accuracy of your information

D2LT strives to keep your personal data accurate. We will provide you with access to your information, including making reasonable effort to provide you with the opportunity to change your personal data. To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity, such as a password and user ID, before granting access to your personal data.

10. Keeping your personal data secure

D2LT is committed to protecting the information you provide us. To prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, to maintain data accuracy, and to ensure the appropriate use of the information, D2LT has in place appropriate physical and managerial procedures to safeguard the information we collect.

If any user of this website suspects D2LT has handled its personal data in a manner that does not comply with this Privacy Policy, please contact us.

11. Changes to this Privacy Policy

If there are updates to the terms this Privacy Policy, we will post those changes and update the revision date in this document, so you will always know what information we collect online, how we use it, and what choices you have. For material changes to this Privacy Policy, D2LT will provide notification to affected customers.
